The results of Hatfield’s first "Gotta Grow" garden contest, conducted in conjunction with the Township, are being announced. I am thrilled to say that the Borough entries have done exceptionally well! It was wonderful to see how the community embraced this friendly competition; there were over 50 entries. There were so many strong entries that, as a judge, I found it hard to choose. I’m looking forward to the contest next year and I want to express my gratitude to Jay Gordon of the Township for organizing this event.
The term of Hatfield Borough’s first Junior Council Person (JCP), Aiden Wieder, will shortly come to a close. I want to thank Aiden for volunteering for this program; it isn’t easy to be the first to try a new venture, but Aiden has served with dedication and diligence. To close out Aiden’s term, he has chosen to run a Community Food Drive to help stock the cupboard at Emmanuel Church. The Food Drive will occur on August 3rd & 10th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Borough office. Additional information on suggested donations can be found on our website. Let’s help Aiden and his team make this important project a success!
Check out the Movie in the Park Night on August 22nd, which starts at dusk at Centennial Park. The featured film is "Migration". Movie night is always a fun time for families. Enjoy.
Looking ahead to September, the Annual Fall Fest and Car Show will be held on September 21st on E. Lincoln Avenue from 3:00-7:00 p.m. This event is always popular; come see some great cars and share in the food, activities, and community spirit.
As I conclude my communication with you, I have a request. I would like you to reach out to neighbors of a certain age and see if you can assist them. Many residents no longer drive and are unable to shop for groceries, attend church, or keep doctor appointments. If you know someone who may need help, please do not hesitate to contact them. I believe they will appreciate the assistance, and the satisfaction you will feel is priceless.
