In 1989 the Borough of Hatfield began to recognize a resident, volunteer, group, or business annually for their dedicated services to the Borough by resolution titled “Citizen of the Year.” Hatfield Borough has decided to change the title of “Citizen of the Year” to “The Lawrence G. Stevens Distinguished Service Award” to commemorate an exemplary and dedicated individual or organization who is willing to serve the community through various roles including community service, boards, and committees.
It has been an honor to have Larry serve the Hatfield Borough Community over the past thirty-plus years. His dedication and love for the Borough is something to be admired.
Congratulations Larry, we will miss you but know that being Mr. Hatfield doesn't end with retirement from Borough Council as you will still be on the Planning Commission & HEROC. We will be sure to visit you at the Hatfield Museum & History Society often! Thank you for all you have accomplished. -Your Borough Family
